For 27 years, Kurt Piper has been creating “beautiful
and useful things” in his Indian Orchard,
Massachusetts
studio. Careful acquisition of tooling
has created perhaps the best equipped small shop in the region.
 |
The space itself is inspiring. His 3000
square foot main workspace features 16’ ceilings and a wall of full height
windows providing beautiful north light. Another 2000 square feet of space
offers a fully equipped secondary shop for overflow capacity as well as
climate-controlled storage for the broad and deep inventory of hardwoods and
veneer.
Kurt has a team of skilled craftsmen with
whom he collaborates in the production of everything that can be done with wood.
From one-of-a-kind artistic furniture, speciality and sculptural items to
cabinetry that fulfills the needs of the owners in every detail, they rise to
any challenge posed. Intense dedication to their art delivers contemporary
design details embodied in a meaningful way, thereby allowing for work that
leaves an enduring impression on the lives of those who encounter it.

We welcome contact from designers, architects
and from individuals. The shop provides cabinetry and furniture principally to
the New England states, as well as for projects across the country from Aspen to
Lenox, and from Taos to Tampa.
Kurt’s work has been featured in shows and
galleries in Philadelphia, Providence, Nashville and New York City, as well as
in publications around the country.
